Happy Sunday lovelies!
I think its safe to say that 2017 has some crazy good makeup launches! Whether they were from the drugstore or from a high end brand, amazing products just kept popping up and I was living for it (and going super broke whoops). There was a lot of trial and error mind you but I found some real gems that are now in my daily collection.
Here are my top makeup products from 2017. What were your favourite products from last year? Enjoy! xo
Product #1: Too Faced Primed and Peachy Primer
I am a primer addict and I am not ashamed to admit it. This primer claims to be an amazing peachy dream, and I can confirm it is just that. This primer is well worth the cost, it is my go to primer for sure.
“A cooling, mattifying primer that blurs, smooths, and brightens the complexion. Infused with exclusive comfort matte technology, this Primed & Peachy formula delivers a mattifying, soft-focused finish with lightweight, comfortable wear. Offers up to 12 hours of shine control, lasts up to 16 hours, smells like peaches and cream.” – Sephora website
Product #2: L’Oreal Infalible Liquid Lipstick
I cannot say enough how much I hate the feel of liquid lipsticks on my mouth. I have a sever addiction to lip balm so I do not like having dry lips, and most of the liquid lipsticks dry out your lips hardcore. Its the grossest feeling and not a pretty look with the lipstick crumbling all over. But, I have found the holy grail (and its drugstore!!). I have the colours from lift right, Plum Bum, Angora, and Nudist (I also have Matador but I recently bought it after the picture was taken). RachhLoves (one of my favourite beauty YouTubers) did a whole video on this collection and raved about them, so naturally I was drawn to them. The colour selection is amazing and you cant beat the price for the payoff form the drugstore.
“The Pro-Matte Sensation: Introducing Infallible Pro-Matte Liquid Lipstick, L’Oreal’s first up to 16 hour matte liquid lipstick! Intense high pigment shades create comfortable, lasting ultra-matte color. This long-wearing, full-coverage liquid lip feels light for all day comfort. With the pro-sculpt applicator, shape and add dimension to lips. Liquid matte finish, up to 16 hour of wearHigh impact colour, comfortable wear.” – Ulta website
Product #3: Wet n’ Wild Photofocus Foundation
I got into wearing foundation the past few months, I have always just stuck to wearing concealer. I have always had decent skin so I never felt the need to use it on my face (plus I wasn’t good at applying it and Im too lazy to learn). But as I started watching more YouTube tutorials I wanted that flawless look to match my bold eyeshadow looks. Foundation can get pretty expensive, and your girl loves a good drugstore find. I head so many beauty gurus rave about this foundation so I gave it a shot and it changed my whole makeup routine. Granted it does smell like paint, but it gives you a gorgeous finish, and its from a brand that is from the drugstore and is cruelty free! I used this on a brides makeup in the summer and her face looked absolutely radiant (and it was perfect because of its no flash back for pictures). You can’t beat this product if your just trying out foundation ,or even to add to a makeup pro’s collection.
“Your skin, only better. Our new high-performing, skin-perfecting foundation underwent major road testing under seven different photo lighting conditions to deliver flawless camera-ready makeup every time. Specially made with a matte, light-diffusing complex to give your skin #nofilter perfection. High-performing, breakthrough formula, featuring light-adjusting complex to help prevent white cast in photo, tested under 7 light conditions with and without the use of flash.” – Wet n’ Wild website
Product #4: L’Oreal Lash Paradise Mascara
If you haven’t heard of this mascara you have been living under a rock. This mascara took the makeup world by storm in 2017. A drugstore mascara that gives you incredible lashes, whats not to love?? I never leave the house without mascara and if I do its a very rare day. I have a very particular look I try to achieve with my lashes, and most mascaras do not cut it. As you can see, mine is very beat up and Im due for a new one soon (it does dry out quicker than other mascaras) but I will pay for it every time its just that good.
“Take your lashes to paradise! L’Oreal’s Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara is their first mascara for voluptuous volume and length now with even more black pigments. Soft wavy bristle brush holds maximum formula for a dramatic volumizing charge.” – Ulta website
Product #5: Urban Decay Perversion Eyeliner
Does anyone else have the problem of their eyeliner rubbing off or fading throughout the day? I’m not the best when it comes to eyeliner (I always aim for a small wing, but it always turns out to be a huge ass wing, anyone else??) so I need a easy to use and super black eyeliner. I’ve tried drugstore, and the Kat Von D one but this eyeliner… guys. This eyeliner stays put all day, is pitch black and glides on with so much ease. If you haven’t tried this product before, I highly recommend you check it out.
“A free-flowing, fine-point eye pen that lays down waterproof blacker-than-black lines with precision. Nail a precise eyeliner look with Urban Decay’s Perversion Waterproof Fine-Point Eye Pen. This super-smooth, free-flowing pen draws on ultra-perfect and waterproof, blacker-than-black lines that last all day.” – Sephora website
Product #6: Jaclyn Hill X Morphe Eyeshadow Palette
Perfection. The only word to describe this pallet and that isn’t even doing it full justice. I looooove doing eyeshadow. I cant rave enough about this pallet. I spent my entire lunch break on the Morphe website in line to get this bad boy, and because I live in Canada is was hella expensive but it was so worth it. There is no fall out, so many colour options, and I adore Jaclyn Hill so supporting her on this collab was a must.
“This is not your average eye palette. That’d be boring. We (and most importantly, Jaclyn Hill) don’t do boring. This palette is a 2-year love affair. 35 brand-new, OMG eyeshadows that Jaclyn whipped up, formulated, tested, re-tested, and perfected. They were created to deliver not only the best color payoff but also amazing application. Mattes, shimmers, satins, foils, and glitter: all pressed to perfection…just the way Jaclyn wanted. Her dreamy colors are now your reality. So whether you’re pressed for time or have time to play, this palette is your new bestie. Because a girl (and guy) needs to have options.” – Morphe website
