This brand was brought to my attention through CosmoByHaley’s Instagram page. Nurture by Nature recently changed their products packaging and wanted to show it off by giving it’s customers some money off. Haley is an affiliate with NXN and the deal she was promoting at the time really intrigued me. Sadly when I went to go check out the exchange to Canadian dollars was awful. My total came to about $30 Canadian plus duty of $16 (the USD price was featured at $4 I believe at the time).
NXN is a subscription so the bottles are a bit tinier than normal, but they are all still decent sizes. I ordered the Zero Shine system as I have oily skin and wanted to try this brand out since Haley spoke so fondly of it. Apparently after 30 days you are supposed to experience way less shine by using the products below and drinking lots of water.
I love the packaging and how everything comes together in a little clear bag. It looks so sleek and makes me think of a luxurious brand. NXN is cruelty free and are free of all the bad things that most brands have in.
- NO HARMFUL CHEMICALS
- NO PARABENS
- NO SULFATES
- NO PHTHALATES
- NO FORMALDEHYDE
- NO POLYETHYLENE
- NO PROPYLENE GLYCOL
Although this brand is full of great ingredients and looks beautiful in my bathroom, I did not like the formulas. I really wanted to have a good review on this company but it just did not make a good impression on me. This line was supposed to help decrease my oil but it seemed to make it 10 X worse. I face would shine with and without makeup, soaking my oil sheets after a few hours after applying it.
It did not have a reaction to my skin thankfully as I have very sensitive skin. Each product had a nice citrus scent and felt very lightweight. I only needed one pump of the foaming cleanser and it felt very gentle on my skin.
Personally I think the Balance Beam moisturizer had the most to do with why my face was so oily throughout the day. The texture was very siliconey and thicker than I’m normally use to but had the same nice citrus scent.
The flash matte primer seemed very useless to me. I used this with and without makeup and my pores were still there and still just as noticeable. I like my other primers much better (such as the All Star Primer I mention in my Colourpop Haul).
Again with this product, I like other face masks much better. I found this mask to slightly burn as it was drying to my skin and no noticeable differences since using it.
I had high hopes for this skincare line but sadly it did not work out for me. My skin broke out more than usual and was oily to the extent of trying to wipe it off multiple times a day. There are many positive reviews for this brand and both their oil and dry products. I personally did not find the bang worth my Canadian buck but if it works for your skin, it’s a great cruelty free option.
Thanks for reading babes!
